“Slow down, Be more strategic, and Say No more often.”

👏 This is how high performers avoid falling into neglect in certain areas of their lives.

It’s okay, encouraged even, to work hard. Strive from purpose. Go after all that you can achieve. Impact the masses. But beware of overreaching.

This past week I truly took 3 days to focus 🧘‍♀️on me. My mental health, my energy, my sleep 😴 and the way I came back to my family was a CLEAR picture that I needed this a LONG time ago!

How can you tell if you may be overreaching in one area? Rate your level of satisfaction in lots of areas and see how it measures up.

Here’s a list from High Performance Habits to help:

•health • intimate relationship • mission/work

•family • finances • adventure • hobby

•friends • spirituality • emotion

People don’t mean to neglect. It sort of creeps up on them. Their marriage is suffering because of their focus on work. Their health and weight are suffering because of their focus on parenting. Etc.

The answer is awareness, clarity and intentionality. Paying attention to these areas can keep you from a world of guilt when something is in disarray from ignorant neglect.

Chin up, guys. We got this. Let’s slow down and evaluate often ❤️ you CAN do this you CAN make this work for your family but ONLY when it’s in order and in line with what you’re goals are and you HEALTH on all levels is in order. It’s OK to take care of you! ❤️
